Do you ever wonder if all the struggle is really "worth it?"
So many clients and patients I work with will inevitably reach a point where they feel completely stuck. They feel confused and hopeless and maybe even worthless. Realistically, they may feel even WORSE than they did when they were actively engaging in their eating disorder.
And so, they wonder: what am I doing? Is this worth it? Is freedom possible? Is full recovery actually possible?
Well, I'd like to encourage you, as I do my individual patients and clients, that yes yes YES! Full recovery is possible. True freedom from food and body obsessions is possible! And you are so SO close!
But...

This may be a slow burn kind of change.

But what if you could feel good in your body RIGHT NOW?
Well, in this episode, I'm sharing with you my top 10 strategies to feel good in your body right now! These are the exact same strategies that I personally use to improve my own body image when I'm not feeling my best.
Buy new clothes if you need to. If it helps to cut the tags out of your clothes, do it! Hide or get rid of clothes that don't fit you right now.
Diet culture can make us very self-centered. Sometimes even recovery makes...
What does God actually think of food and body image obsessions? How can we apply GRACE to food and our bodies?
Diet culture has hijacked Christian culture and many church communities. This is no surprise. However, maybe we've gotten it wrong. Let's investigate how to apply grace to food and body image issues.
In today's episode, I talk with dietitian, author, wife, mother, and eating disorders professional, Aubrey Golbek.

Can you develop an eating disorder and body dysmorphia even when you're in an already "thin ideal" body? YES!
No matter your body size or shape, we are all vulnerable to the impact of culture on how we view ourselves. Eating disorders are mental illnesses, and we cannot determine someone's emotional suffering based on what someone looks like.
In today's episode, I talk with dietitian, food blogger, and eating disorders professional, Sophie Bertrand.

How does someone get on a weight loss television show? What's it really like behind the scenes? How do doctors and the medical community affect our relationship with food and body?

For many of us who struggle with food and our bodies, trauma- whether big or small- is likely a part of our story. Even if you think that your childhood wasn't "that bad" or nothing "really traumatic" happened to you, you may be surprised to know how much we internalize from traumatic moments. In fact, trauma is not defined by the severity of the event, but by the severity of the impact on the individual.
In today's episode, I talk with my dear friend, Lindsay Gibson- author, speaker, trauma and maternal mental health advocate, and devoted mother.
